The UltraSun UV.R VacRod 300 is a high‑efficiency solar hot water system engineered to deliver reliable and cost‑effective hot water for medium to large residential applications, such as homes, apartments, guesthouses, or small commercial properties. It uses advanced vacuum tube collector technology to harness solar energy and convert it into heat with superior efficiency — even in cooler climates or on cloudy days.

At the core of the system are a series of double‑layer borosilicate glass vacuum tubes, each consisting of two sealed concentric tubes with a vacuum between them to greatly reduce heat loss. Inside each tube, a copper rod heat transfer element projects into the solar manifold, optimizing heat transfer from the collector to the water. Water circulates continuously between the tubes and the thermosyphon‑principle insulated storage tank, naturally heating the tank’s contents without the need for pumps.

The 300‑litre stainless steel SU316 storage tank offers robust corrosion resistance and excellent heat retention. It’s encased in an insulated painted steel casing and mounted on a strong anodised aluminium frame designed to withstand outdoor conditions and provide years of trouble‑free performance.

With 30 vacuum tubes and an effective aperture area of approximately 2.8 m², the UV.R VacRod 300 can deliver a significant amount of thermal energy daily — with maximum potential heat output around 16.7 kWh/day under strong solar irradiance, and useful performance even at lower irradiance levels, giving you plenty of hot water for showers, washing, and household needs.

The system is suitable for lightly pressurised installations and can handle mineralised water, although water quality outside recommended limits should be treated before use. It is built to operate at up to 6 bar pressure and temperatures up to 300 °C within the collector elements, offering flexibility and durability for residential environments.
