The UltraSun UV.R VacRod 200 is a highly efficient solar hot water system designed to provide reliable and cost‑effective hot water for medium‑sized households and residential settings. Using advanced vacuum tube and heat‑rod technology, it captures and converts solar energy into heat with exceptional performance, even in cooler or cloudy conditions.

At its core, the system features a series of double‑layer borosilicate glass vacuum tubes that create a vacuum between two concentric glass layers, greatly reducing heat loss and maximizing solar gain. A copper rod heat transfer element inside each tube projects into an aluminium header manifold, where water is heated directly from the sun’s energy. The heated water then circulates naturally through the storage tank via the thermosyphon principle, eliminating the need for electrical pumps.

The 200‑litre stainless steel SU316 storage tank is robust and corrosion‑resistant, with an insulated painted steel casing to retain heat and ensure long‑lasting performance. Mounted on a strong anodised aluminium frame, the unit is built for outdoor installation and reliable everyday operation.

With around 20 vacuum tubes and an effective solar absorber area of roughly 1.9 m², the UV.R VacRod 200 can deliver significant heat output — approximately 11.2 kWh/day under strong sun and useful performance (about 7.4 kWh/day) even with lower solar irradiance. The system is designed to work with lightly pressurised installations and can handle mineralised water (with the proper pre‑treatment where required), adding flexibility for real‑world use. It supports operating pressures up to 6 bar and temperatures up to 300 °C in the collector tubes, making it robust in varied conditions.
